Scottsville became Virginia's first Bee City USA in 2016 and celebrates the community's love of pollinators during National Pollinator Week.

Join us in Scottsville on Saturday June 23rd for a day of community fun and pollinator love!

Visit the Scottsville Farmer's Market to interact with our participants at their booths: Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature, McIntire Botanical Garden, Master Gardeners of Fluvanna County, Rivanna Master Naturalists, and NS DAR.

12:30-12:45pm Mayor's Welcome / Proclamation
VICTORY HALL
Join us at Victory Hall to hear Mayor Nancy Gill's reading of the official town proclamation and what it means to Scottsville.

12:45-1:30pm Deborah Davis "Why Moths?" 
VICTORY HALL
Join us at Victory Hall to hear gardener, herbalist and artist, Deborah Davis speak on moths in Virginia and their importance to our ecosystem.

1:30-3:00pm Bee Movie
VICTORY HALL
Free screening of a family friendly bee movie with a question and answer session following with local beekeeper and business owner, Heather Stertzer.

2:00 & 3:00pm Encaustic Demonstration

Attend a free encaustic demonstration with award-winning McGuffey artist Jeannine Barton Regan to learn about this fascinating and ancient technique. Watch as hot beeswax is combined with pigments, layered, scraped, sculpted, and manipulated to form unique works of art.
