Keynote Speaker: Bill Cooper is Director, Diversity Strategies for Atlantic Constructors, Inc., a Richmond, Virginia-based mechanical and industrial construction firm. A critical part of his responsibilities is to leverage difference and inclusion as critical elements of a strategy that gives ACI a competitive advantage in the both the marketplace and war for talent. Before joining ACI, he served as Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at the Federal Reserve Bank and Director of Supplier Diversity at the University of Virginia. During his time at UVA, spending with minority- and women-owned firms increased from less than $10 million to more than $60 million annually. And as the President and CEO of Choice Communications, Inc., a commercial printing operation in Richmond, VA, Bill was successful in transforming a former in-house printing operation, into one of the largest minority-own printing firms in the country.
Bill has an undergraduate degree in architecture, masters of urban planning, and an MBA – all from the University of Virginia. Cooper is the former Chair of the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council, former Commissioner for the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority and has served as an advisor on supplier diversity to four Virginia Governors.
